Foie Gras, Premium Olive Oil, Jamons, Cavas - these and other delicacies gathered in five days of activities in the interior of Spain

Food Safari Catalunya takes place in September so that we can participate in the olive harvest, the Harvest Party, and monitor the entire olive oil production process. Another highlight of the itinerary is the visit to an award winning winery where we will learn the artisanal production process of Cavas and we will be able to taste some special labels. We also draw your attention to the visit to the duck producing farm where we will learn everything about foie gras, magrets and, of course, taste these delicacies in harmony with cavas and olive oils.

September 24th Thursday

Upon arrival in Barcelona (BCN), our team will be at the airport waiting to take you to the hotel.

At 5 pm, the group meets at the hotel in the early afternoon with the hosts of this trip: Paulo Machado, ambassador of Brazilian gastronomy and Carolina Lima, curator of the #HolaOlive project. Welcome drink and departure to visit La Pedrera to learn a little about Gaudí’s art and architecture. Walk to Cañete Restaurant & Bar for dinner and socializing. This is the first night of Spain Catalunya Food Trip.

In the summer the dusk in Barcelona is around 10 pm, the afternoons are long and the Catalan usually dines late at night. The program was developed following the routine of the residents of the region, with breakfast around 9:30 am and activities until the end of the day – around 22:00.

September 25th Friday

Breakfast is served from 8am. Check-out from the hotel and departure by minibus to the city of Girona, in a journey of approximately 1h30min towards the Costa Brava. The destination this morning is the Collverd duck farm to get to know the whole structure of how foie gras is produced. Then we go to the field to learn about animal breeding and answer questions about the process of a company that takes great care in handling its animals. The activity ends with an exclusive tasting of premium products that are sold in the best meat boutiques in Europe. Visit to the Mas Marcè i Làctics Peralada cheese producer, sheep cheese producer. The visit includes tasting of five types of cheese and pairing with wines. In the late afternoon, check-in at the Girona hotel and free time to walk around the city. Our hosts invite everyone to dinner (by membership). Overnight stay.

September 26th Saturday

Breakfast is served from 8am. Check out of the hotel and travel by minibus to the rural area of ​​the city of Arbeca, inland in Catalunya. It is a 2 hour trip to the olive farm where we will participate in the Harvest Party – Harvest. We will be received exclusively by the family that owns the farm and produces olive oils of the Arbequinados variety. The objective of the activity is to learn about the process of planting olive trees, harvesting the olives, production and details about bottling olive oil. Practical oil tasting class and delicious lunch in the countryside served among the olive trees. Check-in at a charming guesthouse located in the center of Arbeca. Free night to walk around the historic center and have dinner. Overnight stay. In the late afternoon, check-in at the Girona hotel and free time to walk around the city. Our hosts invite everyone to dinner (by membership). Overnight stay.

September 27th Sunday

Breakfast is served from 8:30 am. Check out of the hotel and board the minibus to the renowned winery of cavas. This winery won the Best Winery of Catalonia award in 2017 and 2019, referenced by the Catalan and Spanish Association of Someliers. Visit to the pueblo Sant Sadurní d’Anoia where we will have lunch in a special restaurant. The journey continues after lunch to Barcelona. Check-in at the hotel and free night. The Actual Hotel chosen in Barcelona is in a privileged location, next to Passeo de Gracia, close to shops and restaurants of international renown.

September 28th Monday

Breakfast and walk to the Gothic quarter of Barcelona to the Santa Caterina Market – a beautiful building offering numerous products – seafood, meats, breads, vegetables, hams and much more.

After the visit we will participate in an exclusive Paellas class and have lunch. Return to the hotel and rest. Free night and overnight.

September 29th Tuesday

Breakfast served from 8am. Check out from the hotel and transfer to the airport. End of Food Safari Catalunya – Spain Catalunya Food Trip.
