Day 2

Delicious breakfast at the hotel, with regional fruit juices and tapioca with local cheese. Departure at 9 am for a guided tour of the Municipal Markets – where the food trade throughout the State of Amazonas is concentrated. An experience of smells and flavors in which we invite you to have a snack at X-Caboclinho – a delicious snack prepared with the fruit of the tucumã palm tree, one of the favorites of the manauaras.
Then we’ll board a private boat that will take us over the “meeting of waters”. Then we’ll go for lunch at a riverside restaurant. We’ll return to the hotel in the late afternoon to rest, before walking on the other side of the theatre, for dinner at restaurant where the chef is a specialist in fusion of French techniques with regional ingredients Return to the hotel and overnight.

Day 3

Early breakfast and departure to the airport to board the flight to the city of Tefé, the Food Safaris home in the Amazon. It’s 1h20min flying over the Amazon rainforest, an impressive sight of the density of the flora that leaves us with our face glued to the plane’s window!
Upon arrival in Tefé, our team will be waiting to take us by boat to the Uakari, an eco-lodge managed by the local communities. Check-in at the apartments and meet at the main floating boat to taste caipirinhas made with regional fruits. The lunch prepared by the hotel’s kitchen staff includes: fried aruanã and pirarucu dumpling. In the afternoon, we will take a boat trip on Lake Mamiruá – the first experience of observing the fauna and landscapes of the Amazon. We will be watching the sunset, when we will start the return to the inn. After dinner, talk with the community about what the reserve is and its objectives. Overnight stay.

Days 4 & 5

The days start with a delicious breakfast consisting of breads, tapiocas, cold cuts, eggs, jams and regional fruit juices. The days are divided into nature walks and regional cooking classes. One of the main activities of these days is the visit to the community, where a local guide leads us through the small village with houses on stilts that also house a school, a health clinic, a soccer field and an exhibition of handicrafts.
There we will follow the work of a family in the “flour house”. The entire artisanal process of milling the cassava and pressing the mass in a tipiti (natural straw squeezer produced by indigenous communities) to extract the liquid that will result in tucupi (yellow sauce extracted from wild cassava) and in the mass that will be roasted and become the water flour.
Boat trips are an opportunity to observe wildlife as the Lake of Mamirauá is inhabited by numerous species of birds, sloths, monkeys and porpoises – including the Boto Rosa! The Uakari Monkey only occurs in this portion of the Amazon, as it is an endemic species, it names the reserve that works for its conservation.

Day 6

Departure after breakfast to the city of Tefé in order to take the return flight to Manaus. and from there, on to your final destination.
