Travel experience that will change your taste forever

Visit the gastronomic capital of Latin America with learning about the different species of potatoes, peppers and other authentic ingredients from the Peruvian Amazon, Pacific coast and Andes. Ceviches and Tiraditos class with Chef Pedro Schiaffino and Peruvian Sauces and Ingredients class with Chef Pamela Tello.

January 14th Thursday

Arriving in Lima, our staff will be waiting at the airport to take you to the hotel. Group meeting at 1 pm in the hotel lobby for a welcome drink. Depart by van to Feira de Surquillo to visit the main market of the Peruvian capital. Stop for lunch at the Gastronomic Market, at La Patarascha Box for Amazonian food. Visit to the Indian Market, a complex of Peruvian handicraft shops. Return by van to the hotel. Depart at 7 pm by van to the award-winning Astrid & Gastón restaurant (not included) considered the best in Latin America in 2013 by The World’s 50 Best. Return to the hotel and overnight.

January 15th  Friday

Depart after breakfast to the Agrarian University to visit the production of Peruvian native ingredients and their conservation work. Then, a hands-on cooking class with chef Pamela Tello on potatoes, producing the Huancaina, Rocoto and Ocopa sauces, cooking a Cuy and making a Chilcano, a Pisco-based drink. Return by van to the hotel. Optional visit to the studio of stylist Meche Correa. The chef invites everyone to have drinks and meet the night of Barranco this Friday. Overnight.

January 16th  Saturday

Depart after breakfast to visit the Huaca Huallamarca Archaeological Site, an open-air museum of pre-Inca civilizations. City Tour of the historic center with visit to the Plaza de Armas and the Museum of Gastronomy.Stop for lunch at Barra Lima restaurant (not included) and return to the hotel to rest.Van departure at 7:30 pm for Ceviches and Tiraditos class show with award-winning chef Pedro Schiaffino from Malabar Restaurant. Return to the hotel and overnight.

January 17th Sunday

Departure after breakfast for olive oil class.  Lecture with the researcher in Latin Cuisine, Izabel Alvares, chef of the El Señorio del Sulco restaurant, followed by lunch (not included). Guided tour of the Larco Museum to learn more about Peruvian and American people’s history. The chef invites everyone to a Limeño dinner in a local restaurant or visit the Shopping Larcomar, which features Peruvian alpaca wool, piura cotton (special) stores and a variety of dining options.

January 18th  Monday

Check-out from the hotel and departure to the airport with driver from our staff. End of Food Safari Lima.
